PUBLICATION UPDATES

Hi, here are some publication updates:

KRIMI! #0 will be completely discontinued at the End of 2026. No reprints will take place. This has been a success story, but also a try-out for us, so initially we had decided to let it run until #1 came out but then had second thoughts as we know there are a lot of collectors out there. So we left the limited HC edition (which is expensive, yes) until it reached 100 printed copies. As amazon is a bit tricky about exact sales (so we might be informed that 100 copies had been printed when alread 104 were shipped...) we decided to drop that and simply withdraw the copy Dec. 31st 2026. That should be around 94-95 sold copies, the rest are our own copies.
If you look at the data, only 5% of books on KDP actually reach that number (and this is only the HC edition. the SC sold multiple times that number in only one year). So, yes we are talking "success" although we calculated only a minimal profit margin - we are not in it to make money.

KRIMI!#1 has done very well, given that it's price tag is more than double that of #0 (but word-count has quadrupled!!!). Again, the HC edition will be limited to 100 units. We are currently at 50 units sold, so there are still 2-3 years until we withdraw that version. The SC version will remain on offer in an unlimited way.

KRIMI!#2 has started off very strongly, Here the HC sales of the first weeks show that we have some cool fans of our magazine. As this one has just come out, there is nothing more to say. Except for the usual stuff: HC edtiion limited to 100, SC unlimited

THE ENCYCLOPEDIA, puh that is a difficult beast. The idea was to give a database for every KRIMI out there. It should be your companion, not  some coffee-table book to collect dust in your library. Costs for producing this book had been very high as sometimes the movies were very hard to get. We tried to keep it as low-cost as possible, with even a kindle edition and a black/white edition if you were just interested in the information. The HC edtion is actually now quite close to 100 so I assume it will not see the end of next year. The SC/COLOR and SC/BW editions will remain in place. The kindle editon.. .well...

As the German version of the HC Ency  has already reached 100 ex. it is discontinued - but will be replaced by a much more elaborate and fancy edition, this time though as a two-parter. Book 1 will be 1958-1960 and 2 will be 1961-1964. So it will cover the same area as the original Ency but much more elaborate. The posters are fully restored and most movies get a full-sized one. Text is now by 60.000 words for each book, so there is massively more information. Each book will have 180 pages in the letter-format, full color.

We do schedule the third book 1964-65 for december 2026.

The German-only MYTHOS MABUSE will remain German-only. Around 35% of that book is the piece "THE MANY DEATHS OF DR. MABUSE", with another 35% adding new stuff that turned up or could be investigated after the deadline for KRIMI!#2. The rest is general information on the Fritz Lang and CCC movies to make it a "full" Mabuse book. But do not dispair. The socond part will become a lengthy article in KRIMI!#3 - which will then contain much more updated and researched info (probably) than MYTHOS (so this is a kind of update-series).

And...

We have decided to do a spin-off (2 or maybe 3 issues) called GRUSEL! which will deal with the lesser known Horrorfilms of Continental Europe. But this is all very early stages, so cover and publication date are purely provisional.
