KRIMI! THE MAGAZINE UPDATES
Hi there. Short updates on KRIMI! (September 5th)
1) KRIMI! THE MAGAZINE (September 30th 2025)
The release date will be Sep. 30th 2025 with 211 pages of contents (about 215 all in all which is three times the amount of pages of KRIMI! #0).
The format and size are the same, but the spacing is much more narrow and the font size is smaller, so we were able to pack in a whopping 74.000 words (KRIMI! #0 had about 19.000 words in comparison), so we nearly quadrupled the amount of information!
Status: Final. Just waiting for the final proof to arrive and be ok.

In the early 1980s critic-turned filmmaker HC Blumenberg tried to re-ignite the Krimi genre with three big budgeted movies, all exploring different roots of the genre. From the Mabuse-inspired 1000 Augen to the Feuillade-Ronin mix of SUMMER OF THE SAMURAI, his trilogy ended with the very noir MADONNA-MAN. Lost and forgotten, Krimi saw the time being ripe for a rediscovery, tracked down the director and talked about these three fascinating movies.

3 THE PHANTOM WITH THE GLASS PLUMAGE 1957-1969 40 Pages
How much WALLACE is in Argento. Always put down as a marketing gag, Argento's animal trilogy and Crispino's "Etruscian" giallo were labelled as "based on stories by Bryan Edgar Wallace". Everyone laughed and no-one checked. We tried and went into the CCC-archives to find that there must be more to it. World exclusive first-time synopsis of BEW's script for PHANTOM OF SOHO and the discovery of the many connections between Bryan Edgar Wallace and the Argento films. The story, however has just begun....

By Giovanny Petronacci, who supervised the restoration of the Italian-language episodes and is the leading expert on this matter.
7 LADISLAS FODOR 15 Pages
Once one of the most famous playwrights in Middle Europe, Laslo Fodor emigrated into the USA only to return to a completely changed Germany. Employed by CCC, he churned out one Krimi script after the other, being one of the most prolific writers for this genre. But very little is actually known about him.
Based on new findings in Fodor’s archive by KRIMI! we present the most complete biography of the scriptwriter for Mabuse, Edgar Wallace, Bryan Edgar Wallace, Karl May and Die Nibelungen.
