KRIMI THE ENCYCLOPEDIA PT 1: 1958-1964 OUT DECEMBER 2025

 This was meant as a database to have a quick overview on the Krimis we would write about. Trying to get them all in was already a task. Then I decided to pick some of the movies that I had not yet seen and review them here. Then the reviews got longer and longer. And with me, story-arches about how these films with all their interacting protagonists (producers, directors, financiers and actors) built in my synapses. So why not sit down and chronologically review and research all those movies. Their genesis, their performance and their legacy.

This will be strictly KRIMI movies, so no french or spanish ones (co-productions though count) and the fringe movies like Vicecrime ("Sittenfilm"), Dramas or Comedies get mentioned by the way and sometimes get the full treatment.

To describe the whole genre, cultural influences will be detected and analysed and the huge impact of true-crime cases (Rosemarie Nitribitt etc.) will be evalued. I will look at the business side of the movie industry for each year and will do charts on international co-productions and performances.

It emerged that on average 3 pages can be written about each movie (I tend to make the synopsis not too long - only if they are not available in the net I go a bit deeper), add a full-page cover art and you get around 500 pages.

I don't think that it makes sense to make the book bigger and so only the movies from 1958 to 1964 are in Part I. Part II and Part III will be published in the next decembers then. 

It will be hardcover as I think this one's for the connoisseurs. I am thinking about a German edition (a book like this is not available in Germany and has never been done before), but then I'll do that with a proper publishing house.

I cannot tell you about the price as this has to be calculated by Amazon.

Besides this, were are full force in to make KRIMI! The Magazine #1 happen... so much is going on.
